Sad but true, there is no such thing as a completely stress free life. In fact, in a way we wouldn't want a life devoid of any stress, because stress can be a great motivator. Stress can help us sharpen our focus on the problem at hand, energize our determination and motivate us toward our goals. However problems arise whenever coping with stress becomes too much, and instead of being a positive motivator it then acts as a barrier to effective functioning.
Chronic stress can become overwhelming, blocking creativity, hindering effective decision making and creating a depressed and pessimistic mood. People coping with stress are simply not very much fun to be around, and become increasingly ineffective in both their professional and personal lives.
The easiest way of coping with stress is to simply avoid the things that cause it, but that is often easier said than done. If the prime cause of stress is your place of employment, it can be pretty hard to remove work from your life, at least not without creating all kinds of new financial stresses. The same can be said with the stressful situations that too often arise in our relationships with family and friends. Few people would choose to sever all of their relationships simply to avoid the stress. Maybe if you moved away to a desert island, with no job, no family or friends and no interaction with anyone, stress would disappear, but few people would be content for very long with that limited lifestyle.
So if we can't get away from the things that cause us stress, we really have no choice but to learn ways of coping with stress. This can be done by adopting a new attitude towards stress, like accepting the things we cannot change instead of resisting it, and making space in your life for pleasant relaxing things to counteract those stressful feelings. But one of the best ways known to combat stress is with exercise. The stiffness, anxiety and depression that are typically caused by excess stress can melt away with the help of healthy physical activity. Your physical appearance and self-confidence also get a boost as well. With a well planned and professionally designed exercise regimen specifically designed to match your stress level and lifestyle, you can effectively minimize the amount of counterproductive stress in your life. You will be amazed at what a quick kettlebell workout for example could do to your stress levels.
